15. ▪ Description of the Event: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit - I of Swarnamoyee Jogendranath Mahavidyalaya have organised an awareness campaign or rally and a lecture programme as well to observe the World AIDS Day on 3 rd December, 2024 at 12:00 noon. This initiative was taken by the NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Aparesh Mondal and the principal of the college, Dr. Ratan Kumar Samanta and the NSS volunteers have incorporated to make the programme successful. A campaign/rally was organised with the NSS volunteers and the students of the college to make the people aware about the AIDS, its prevention a nd consequences. The other teaching and non - teaching staff of the college were also present in this rally. Students made a march in the Amdabad village with placard, banner and delivered slogan on spread, prevention and treatment of HIV AIDS. Almost sevent y - five students have participated actively to make this campaign successful. The villagers also responded well with this movement of the students. After the completion of rally, a lecture programme on awareness regarding AIDS was organised by the NSS unit on that day at 12:00 noon in the seminar hall of the college. T he BMOH of Reapara Rural Hospital came to the college to deliver valuable lecture on spread, prevention and treatment of AIDS. Dr. Ratan Kumar Samanta, the principal of the college also delivered valuable lecture on causes, consequences and preventive meas ures of AIDS. The NSS Programme Officer of the college, Mr. Aparesh Mondal who hoste d the programme, also delivered a lecture regarding AIDS. At the end of the programme, a quiz competition on AIDS was organised for the students. Along with the NSS volunteer and the students, other teaching and non - teaching staff were present in the progr amme. Overall students enjoyed the whole programme and learnt a very useful lesson on causes, consequences and preventive measures on HIV AIDS.

Report on Observation of World Water Day Introduction On the 22nd of March 202 4 , the NSS unit of Swarnamoyee Jogendranath Mahavidyalaya, in collaboration with the Eco - club, organized a program to observe World Water Day. Report on Observation of World Yoga Day Introduction On 21st June 2024 , NSS Unit - 1 of Swarnamoyee Jogendranath Mahavidyalaya organized a vibrant and impactful programme to observe World Yoga Day . The event, held in the morning hours , aimed to promote physical and mental wellness through the practice of yoga. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from almost all students, teaching, and non - teaching staff , under the leadership of Dr. Aparesh Mondal , NSS Programme Officer. Report on Observation of World Environment Day Introduction On 5th June 2024 , NSS Unit - 1 of Swarnamoyee Jogendranath Mahavidyalaya organized a meaningful programme to observe World Environment Day . Held at 12 noon , the event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage proactive efforts towards sustainability. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of almost all students, teaching, and non - teaching staff , and featured both on - campus activities and a community awareness rally in the adopted village Barimal . Report on Indigenous Tree Plantation and Pond Cleaning Programme Introduction From 25th May 2024 to 11th June 2024 , NSS Unit - 1 of Swarnamoyee Jogendranath Mahavidyalaya, in collaboration with the Nandigram - II Biodiversity Management Committee , conducted an extensive Indigenous Tree Plantation and Pond Cleaning Programme . The initiative was aimed at promoting ecological awareness, restoring local biodiversity, and fostering environmental responsibility among students. The activities were held daily from 12 noon onwards , with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff. Objectives The key objectives of the programme were: • To promote the plantation of indigenous tree species for biodiversity conservation. • To clean and restore local ponds , contributing to a healthier ecosystem. • To involve students in hands - on environmental action and strengthen their understanding of sustainable practices. • To engage with the adopted village Barimal and work in partnership with the local community.
