Aided General Degree College | Estd.: 2014 P.O.: Amdabad, P.S.: Nandigram, Dist.: Purba Medinipur, PIN 721650 www.sjmahavidyalaya.in | Email: sjmahavidyalaya@gmail.com Description of the Event: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit - I of Swarnamoyee Jogendranath Mahavidyalaya have organised the campus cleaning campaign to prevent the outbreak and spread of mosquito borne disease Dengue on 22 nd of September, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. An awareness lecture regarding the fatal consequences and the needful measures to prevent Dengue is also delivered to the students. This initiative was taken by the NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Aparesh Mondal and the principal of the college, Dr. Ratan Kumar Samanta and the NSS volunteers have incorporated to make the operation successful. The other teaching and non - teaching staff along with the students of the college were also present in this campaign. Almost seventy students have participated actively to make the campaign successful. With the help of the students, the dirt and plastics were collected and cleaned, weeds were removed, sewage systems were checked properly. Bleaching powder, phenyl have sprayed to disinfectant the campus. This way the cleaning operation ended up and a clean, safe and hygiene campus is made ready for the students and other stakeholders.

Keynote Address Dr. Ratan Kumar Samanta delivered the keynote address, underscoring the significance of the anti - ragging measures implemented at the college. He shared his vision for a campus where every student feels secure and respected. Dr. Samanta's address set a positive and encouraging tone for the event. Main Lecture Mr. Aparesh Mondal, the NSS Programme Officer, delivered an engaging and informative lecture on the adverse effects of ragging. He discussed the psychological, social, and legal ramifications of ragging, emphasizing the severe impact it can have on victims. Mr. Mondal shared real - life examples and statistics to illustrate the gravity of the issue and stressed the importance of reporting any incidents of ragging promptly. This initiative was taken by the NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Aparesh Mondal and the principal of the college, Dr. Ratan Kumar Samanta and the NSS volunteers have incorporated to make the programme successful. A campaign/rally w as organised with the NSS volunteers and the students of the college to make the people aware about the AIDS, its prevention and consequences. The other teaching and non - teaching staff of the college were also present in this rally. Students made a march i n the Amdabad village with placard, banner and delivered slogan on spread, prevention and treatment of HIV AIDS. Almost seventy - five students have participated actively to make this campaign successful. The villagers also responded well with this movement of the students. After the completion of rally, a lecture programme on awareness regarding AIDS was organised by the NSS unit on that day at 12:00 noon in the seminar hall of the college. The event aimed to educate students about the importance of proper e - waste disposal and various methods to manage electronic waste effectively. This initiative was a crucial step towards promoting environmental sustainability and responsible e - waste handling among students.
